If you've ever decided to do some periodic housekeeping on your computer, you may have noticed that the default Windows (or Mac) toolset doesn't make it easy to figure out which folders or files are taking up the most space. You can see how much free space you have left on the drive, and you can even do a hard-drive cleanup, but how can you visually see your hard drive and all its contents? The answer lies in two programs that will help you "see" your drive in a whole new way.
WinDirStat - a freeware Windows program will scan a selected directory or drive and give you a complete breakdown of the filetypes and how much space they consume.
jDiskReport - another freeware program similar to WinDirStat; for Windows, Mac, and others.
